Mirrors Hold Magic

IMG_7470.JPG

Mindset if a powerful thing. the beliefs that you hold about the world, your relationships, your money, yourself, all come together to create what's called your life.

Back in my late 20's I had a very insecure mindset...which means that I felt insecure in my day to day life. Whatever state your mind is in is the state that your life is in.

I questioned everything...the world felt hostile to me. It seemed like outside influences were always out to get me. I questioned my husband, my husband's entrepreneurial endeavors, my oldest daughter's choices, relationships I had with friends and extended family members, my housing, my finances, my body/health, and most of all, myself. I felt like I could never be confident enough to live the kind of life I always wanted.

Being in a constant state of questioning is exhausting.

Where there's no trust, there's no peace.

And I wanted, more than anything, to feel peaceful.

Peaceful was a long way away from what I was feeling back in those days. I knew I really needed to have a shift in mindset. I kept hearing whispers telling me that I was meant for more. I'm glad I listened.

Over the last decade, I've done many things to fill my body and brain with more positivity.

One of the very first things I did to shift my thoughts was to utilize something we all have in our homes: A mirror.

This mirror tip is so simple to do that on the surface it seems like it wouldn't make much of a difference. However, I learned over time that this tip makes a world of difference. I immediately noticed a shift in energy from negativity to positivity (not only for myself but for my entire family) after I implemented it.

Here's my tip:

Write positive affirmations on your mirror in dry erase marker.

When I first put marker to mirror, my most pressing life challenge I wanted to address was my marriage. I had long standing programming from my childhood that led me to believe that marriage was a struggle. To prove myself right, I acted on those beliefs daily. I wasn't the best wife and my husband followed my cue. I desperately wanted to change this so my very first positive affirmation I wrote was intended to get my marriage on the right track.

I wrote this on my mirror: I am in a loving, respectful, honest marriage.

At first I didn't notice any concrete changes in behavior or circumstances. But I immediately noticed a feeling of more peace and less negative friction between my husband and I.

Then after a couple of weeks I realized that I wasn't always looking for reasons to be mad at my husband. I felt a softening towards him; sort of like some barrier was coming down. Like I didn't need to be so accusatory and defensive. The amazing thing is that this affirmation I put up was also being seen daily by my husband since it was written on our shared bathroom mirror. The affirmation was also working its magic on him! He was reading those words daily and absorbing their positive message.

Things shifted.  Our marriage got better and better. My marriage now is something I am super proud of! I truly love my husband. And I know he loves me.

Sure there is a lot of work that goes into creating a healthy, happy marriage and life, and that work can be fun! Especially when helped along with some mindset-shifting affirmations written on your mirror. 😉

Everyone in my family reaps the benefits of my affirmations since we are all readers now! (My youngest is 5 years old and reads well.) I even noticed that my teenager has been writing on her mirrors recently as well. 😍

At this time I have these affirmations written on various mirrors around my house:

• I Choose to be Happy

• I am Powerfully Positive

• I Love my Life

I change them up from time to time, depending on what energy I feels needs to be vibrating through my home. I love how simple it is to seep some good vibes into our subconscious!

Do you think you'll start this in your home? What are some affirmations you'll write or already have written? Post a comment, I would love to hear!

What are Essential Oils?

🌿💧Welcome to my essential oils 101 class blog post!

What is an essential oil anyway? Pictured is a marjoram leaf on the left and to the right, a magnification of the leaf. Those little dots you see on the leaf are the essential oil of the plant. These little dots do some amazing things for the plant. They help the plant to maintain an optimal temperature, help it to repel damaging bugs, help it to fight disease and recover from an injury. Plants are living things and need protection. Essential oils provide that protection. In our full circle world that we live in, plants can't survive without their essential oils, and we can't survive without plants. Pretty cool, right!? Maybe you can start to see why essential oils are so beneficial for us. We all know what we need to do to be healthy. Exercise, eat right, hydrate, practice positivity. Repeat the cycle. 😄 I view essential oils as just another layer of healthy living. People who use essential oils intentionally for their health are on the cutting edge of wellness. We understand that we work with all facets (mind, body, soul) to be the best version of ourselves that we can be.

Essential oils are natural aromatic compounds of a plant. When you are smelling the scent of a rose, you're smelling the essential oil of the rose. Essential oils can be found in the leaves, bark, seeds, rind, flower, etc. of a plant and all are steam distilled besides citrus oils. Citrus oils are cold pressed from the rind of the fruit.

Essential oils do not cure or prevent any disease or ailment. What they do is help to balance our systems so our bodies can do what they were naturally intended to do which is heal itself. 🙏🏽✨When you get a cut, what happens? Your body goes to work and heals that cut, right? Essential oils help us to maintain our health and therefore help us recover and regenerate faster. The healthier your system is, the faster you heal. The more unhealthy it is, the slower is the healing process. I, personally, want to be on the healing fast track. I KNOW how miraculous my body is and I want to do everything possible to to support it so it can support me to live my best life ever. Hope you learned something from this post! Have a great day. 💜🌿💧🙏🏽✨😎

Feelingization

Do you ever use visualization as a tool to get what you want out of life? I know a lot of people who use this tool often. You've probably heard about the marathon runner who sees themselves in their minds eye crossing that finish line, or the NBA player who clearly sees his accurate 3 point shot over and over again. The Law of Attraction is activated when you use visualization. This is how the law of attraction works: if you want to experience more of something, you have to become more of that thing which you want to experience. Like attracts like. For example: If you want more loving relationships, you have to be a more loving person. The law of attraction always starts with you. It's an inside job - the outside transforms to match the inside.

One thing I learned while implementing the law of attraction and using visualization in my own life is that there's a third component to successfully shaping your life with what you WANT as opposed to what you don't want. That component is the feeling that you're having when you are thinking of the thing you want to attract into your life. How I feel is the activator for manifesting what I want.

How does this work? Well - if you decide to be generous in the hopes of receiving more financial abundance, yet you are feeling really resentful about being generous, then the universe/God (whatever term you use) will reflect back your feelings more than your actions. If you feel resentful and like you don't have enough even as you are handing out your donation - then guess what? That feeling of scarcity is what you will continue to manifest in your life.

The foundation of creating your life is gaining control of your imagination and feelings. I call this manifesting tool "feelingization." When you are intentional with your imagination as well as your feelings, you become really clear on the action to take. When you take that clear, guided action, your life will be purposely filled with what that you want. And it can go either way.  Most people are not aware that their imagination and their feelings are creating negative circumstances in their life. And that's why it's SO important to gain control of the power of your mind and emotions.
Here's an example of using feelingization to your detriment:

•You have a negative thought
•You don't actively squash that thought
•You end up piling on more negative thoughts to feed the first thought
•Your negative thoughts take on a life of their own and pretty soon you have created an entire gut wrenching scenario in your mind stemming from that first negative thought
•You think about this scenario often. You act it out in your head. You feel in in your being. You are anxious, nervous and upset (remember the scenario hasn't happened in real life!). Yet you physically feel the sensations of how it would be if this scenario really happened.
•The scenario ends up happening and you just knew that it was going to happen! Your worrying was totally justified.
•You repeat the cycle.
•You wonder why you are always so unlucky. :(

Now here's an example of using your imagination to your advantage:

•You are going to speak publicly for the first time at an event next week.
•The thought of speaking at this event is throwing you into all sorts of emotional turbulence. You feel sweaty and nervous just at the thought of presenting in front of all those people.
•You decide that you will NOT let the anxiety take you down and you become intentional with creating this scenario exactly as you want it to play out.
•You activate your imagination to your advantage by sitting in silence daily (at least once a day for a few minutes) and imagine the event: You see yourself in front of the crowd. You are calm and have a powerful presence. The audience is riveted. You finish your presentation and you know you nailed it.
•The day of the event comes. It happens as you saw it in your mind's eye numerous times prior to the actual event.
•You are empowered knowing that you can train your brain to not be a runaway train towards negative, anxiety producing thoughts. You have the knowledge that you can train it to create powerful life experiences,
•You live your life on purpose!

See the difference between the 2 ways you can use your imagination? You have the power to influence every aspect of your life; relationships, finances, career, health. I encourage you to be the creator of your life and not the reactor to events.

Life doesn't happen to you, YOU happen to life.

I want to hear from you! When have you used feelingization? Did you know you were using it at the time or did this blog post help you recognize it? Thank you for taking the time to read!

Love Always,
