Why I Choose to Help
I used to think that going green with all my products was weird. I honestly didn't even know that that was. I heard a little bit of buzz about it and figured it was for them weird crunchy moms (and, also, what the heck did that mean??) I just wasn't into figuring it all out. Call me lazy I guess. Lazy and disinterested in all this green, crunchy stuff.
Then I went through one of those health...I wouldn't call it a scare. More like an awakening. The awakening happened when I went through a period of infertility. It was after I had had my first child and was trying for my second. I thought it would be a breeze to have my second child; after all, my body carried out all its functions no problemo with my first.
What I didn't realize at the time is that I was breaking my body down with emotional stressors and constant negativity running through my body. I had gone through an extremely stressful family court trial for my oldest child, my marriage was not in a good place due to many factors but mostly stemming from my jealousy issues. The emotion of jealously was programmed into me as a child and I carried out in my relationship as an adult. Things were not good in my home. You know the saying, "When mama ain't happy, ain't nobody happy"? There is SO much truth in that.
My relationships were suffering and my health was suffering. I decided enough was enough and sought out ways to change.
After deciding to make those changes in my life, my body healed and was able to carry out its normal functions. I got pregnant 3 months after incorporating these lifestyle changes and carried that baby to term. She is now my healthy, vibrant, extremely intelligent middle child. When she was 6 months old, I got pregnant with my third child without even trying. He's now my funny, creative, also extremely intelligent youngest child. The moment that I took my pregnancy test with the "positive" result for my third pregnancy, I remember thinking that my body was FOR REAL healed!!
Why am I telling you all this? Because I want to give you a framework for why you would want to look at your body holistically; meaning that you take more than just the physical symptoms in mind when you're working towards a solution. You instead explore your emotions, your eating habits, your sleeping habits, the level of toxicity in your life (in your beauty and cleaning products), etc. etc.
It can seem like a lot to take it at first. But it's doable. Progress, not perfection, is the mantra here. Replacing things a little bit at a time is something you can accomplish. You just have to make the decision. Are you ready to do things differently than you've ever done them? Are you ready to dig deep and find things that you might not necessarily like about yourself as you look in the mirror and do the work? Are you ready to stop ignoring and stuffing emotions that are making you sick and unfulfilled?
If you said yes to all of those questions then you're in the right place, if you're not ready to make the leap then I'm sorry to say that it's time for you to move on.
