May 2017 Spotlight: Nikki Berdzar

Wellness Advocate: Nikki Berdzar

Rank Advancement: Premier

If you ever have the pleasure of meeting Nikki, you'll see that she is someone who loves to take care of those around her. She has a big personality and makes everyone laugh! During Diamond Club, I was able to spend time with her in her home in Colorado. Upon meeting her I already knew I was going to get along with her fabulously. She recently welcomed another child into her home and is still rocking her doterra business through all those changes! I asked Nikki 3 questions. Here are her answers:

1. Nikki, you are great at enrolling! What is your favorite tip for bringing in consistent enrollments?
- Follow up! Even when you think someone has lost interest or there is no interest. Follow up! I've had people sign up a year and some even 2 years after month after month of giving samples and/or advice. Always give samples and advice with an open heart. I love helping people see the value the oils bring to our homes.

2. You just had a baby (congrats!) and you have another little one at home. What advice would you give to moms with young ones for balancing home life while building doterra?
- I set up a play area that is pretty entertaining. My 2.5 year old can play for hours and I have my computer set up very close by. Sometimes I fill my sample bottles, work online, set up classes, etc. The great thing is that if my toddler and my 2 week old need me I'm right here! Even if your only quiet time of the day is nap time. Use the quick time wisely. That's something upline taught me. We always have more time than we think. Write down a week's worth of what you do. See the free time you do have and use it!

3. Which doterra product is your very favorite and why?
My favorite essential oil is Melissa. I use it as my perfume. I love the smell and also the mood it leaves me in throughout the day. :)

I also like to use my rewards to invest back into my business with incentives as a win win!

1. Why did you decide that you wanted to start sharing essential oils with others?
I have been using essential oils in some capacity since I was 18 years old as I was first exposed to them in the Beauty Industry. 2. What do you want to achieve in this business?

Build your confidence with product knowledge and listen to others' needs. Above all, have fun and be yourself!

My background included a lot of public speaking and teaching so it seemed like a perfect fit. Helping people, natural living, ability to work and stay home with my kids, utilize my skills of speaking and teaching, earn income, being empowered by owning a business of my own, being part of a company with a social conscience. It was a no-brainer. This essential oil company checked all the boxes. I signed up and ordered business cards the next day!

3. What advice would you give to a new Wellness Advocate who is ready to start sharing essential oils with others?
I would say - Have confidence in YOU! You are more powerful and knowledgeable than you know. Lead with a heart of service and challenge yourself to ALL the possibilities that sharing can bring. Have fun. This is YOUR time!!

1. Why did you decide that you wanted to start sharing essential oils with others?
I have been a regular essential oil user for about 3 years. I helped the people around me and I was already sharing by giving product away to help people with basic health goals, like prevention during the cold season. Then, I started using Balance for myself. When I reached a health emotion balance, I realized so many of my friends had the same issues and could benefit from essential oils on a much deeper level like I have. This was the point that made all the difference for me. From being a consumer to feeling like I need share this with the world.

2. What do you want to achieve in this business?
What I want to achieve is simple. I want to give people the tools to help themselves. I wish for everyone to feel as good as I do!

Melissa Seybert (pictured with her husband, Brett) is our Wellness Advocate of the month for having achieved TWO ranks during the month of September! I had the pleasure of getting to spend some time with Melissa on my Diamond Club travels. I went to San Diego and taught a class for her and her lovely family members and friends. She is a beautiful person, inside and out and I know that she has amazing things in store for her future with dōTERRA! I asked Melissa 3 questions. Here are her answers:

1. What do you do outside of your essential oil business?
My life is my new husband, my family and close friends. Most friends and family are still in my hometown of San Diego and I try to get back there as often as possible, visit and get my feet back in the sand. My profession for the past 14 years has been commercial insurance, specializing in Architects and Engineers. However, I am currently seeking an industry change, something that will compliment my essential oil business and nurture my strengths.

2. What made you decide that sharing oils as a business was right for you?
I've faced many health obstacles the majority of my life. After a few months of balancing my body and seeing results, I knew I had found my bigger purpose in life. While I feel there is a place for western medicine, essential oils have empowered me. It is my mission to empower every other being on the planet the same way that I have been empowered.

3. What advice would you give to a brand new builder?
Live, learn and love the product. Be patient with yourself as you learn and grow throughout the experience. Take every opportunity you can on mentoring and coaching from your up line. The self development process is huge, and I'm just beginning. Believe in the process and be patient.

I wanted to my daughter to have the best of the best. I wanted to know what was going into and on her little body. I stared simple. Now I want to share them with everybody because I see the changes they've made in our lives.

3. What advice would you five to a brand new builder?
Well...being a brand new builder myself, I would say jump all in. I really wasn't able to share the full potential of essential oils until I started having classes, learning from the books and incorporating essential oils into my daily life. Now I can't live without them, nor would I want to.

July 2015 Spotlight: Heather Kimble!

Heather Kimble
New to the business and achieved Manager (almost Director) her first month of sharing!

This lady has a very big heart and just wants to give to others that peace of mind she's experienced herself using essential oils. I know that when she puts her mind to something, she will achieve it! She's determined and intelligent. I have had a great time chatting with her about her essential oil business.

1. Why did you decide that you wanted to start sharing essential oils with others?
I have been a regular essential oil user for about 3 years. I helped the people around me and I was already sharing by giving product away to help people boost their immune systems during winter months. Then, I started using Balance for myself. This was the point that made all the difference for me. From being a consumer to feeling like I need share this with the world.

June 2015 Spotlight: Patricia Conley!

Patricia Conley
Rank Advancement: Director

I have only had the pleasure of meeting this wonderful lady only one time but can tell that her energy is amazing. Plus she raised a pretty awesome lady whom I do know, China Li Smith! I am grateful that Patricia is part of my team and look forward to supporting her in her growth.

1. What do you do outside of your essential oil business?

I am a certified yoga teacher and a certified meditation teacher, also a Reiki Master-Teacher. One day a week I teach two 90 minute classes at a rehab center, one class is for men and one is for women, yoga and meditation for each, with a foundation of recovery, all adult students are in some stage of substance abuse recovery. One morning a week I teach meditation to women at our local jail. My husband and I are empty nesters, with 5 adult children and 7 grandchildren from pre-school to college.

2. What made you decide that sharing essential oils as a business was right for you?

My daughter China Li Smith call me a little over a year ago and told me that she attended a presentation about EO...and she remembered that I had worked with oils many years ago...asking if I still had my reference books . We had a good conversation about essential oils and me being the mom, I suggested that she walk slowly into this possible new venture. Next thing I knew she signed as a WA- she was not only excited about the world of oils, but she was excited about the strong sense of community. In an effort to support my daughter I said that I would sign up as well. So the rolls have reversed, I am now asking my Upline/Daughter for advice. All of her years in the cosmetic industry and sales have given her an "oil up" on her new career. I follow a pretty balanced holistic lifestyle and incorporating oils into that lifestyle has been a great fit. I have shared some of the addiction protocols with some of my students at the shelter and even though they lack the income at this time, knowledge is power and part of their journey is becoming empowered to heal.

3. What advice would you give to a new builder?

I have been with my essential oil business for almost a year and have just recently begun to feel confident in this new arena...I would say, take it slowly, read, communicate and don't be afraid to try something new, and share your knowledge ...slow and easy has worked for me.

May 2015 Spotlight: Amy Hachquet!

I am mother of two children, ages 4 1/2 and 2 1/2, and am also in private practice at Altura Vista Counseling as a marriage and family therapist where I work with individuals, couples and families in the Summerlin area. I've been in Las Vegas since 2006 and married for 9 years to my husband, Jeff. When I'm not diffusing, applying or ingesting my favorite essential oils, you can find me training for my first half-marathon and catching up on my favorite Netflix shows. :)

2. What made you decide that sharing essential oils as a business was right for you?

I was consistently using the oils in my household and on my family and saw results!  I then hosted my first class and decided to get on board.  The enthusiasm generated by the oils is contagious!  Once you use the oils and experience success, it is natural to share with others what you've learned, and to then begin to build your own business as a natural next step!

3. What advice would you give to a brand new builder?

Experience the oils for yourself! Stay close to your upline by engaging in weekly mentor calls and also step out and host your first class.  It is incredibly empowering and exciting!
